What is Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)?

Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is a scheme of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. It is a credit linked, Central Sector Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme which was approved in August 2008.The two erstwhile schemes of the ministry Prime Minister's Rozgar Yojana (PMRY) and Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP) were merged to launch this scheme which continued till March 31, 2008

What is Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Yojana (PMAGY)?

There are about 44,000 villages in which the population of Scheduled castes is above 50 per cent. A new scheme called Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Yojana (PMAGY) has been launched in July 2009 on a pilot basis, for the integrated development of 1000 such villages. An allocation of Rs. 100 crore for this scheme was proposed by Prime Minister. Each village would be able to avail gap funding of Rs. 10 lakh over and above the allocations under Rural Development and Poverty Alleviation Scheme
