57th National Film Awards

the prestigious 57th National Film Awards took place on 22nd october which was felicitated by the president of India Mrs. Pratibha Patil.

The occasion as it happened every year is to honour the best performers in Bollywood and other regional cinemas.The entire Bachchan clan in attendance, to enjoy the great evening .
Among others the catch of the eye was none other than the superstar Amitabh Bachchan as he receives his Fourth National Award.

Big B received this award for R. Balakrishna's 'Paa' from President Pratibha Patil. He had earlier won it for 'Saat Hindustani', 'Agneepath' and 'Black'. His son Abhishek who produced the movie, too received his debut national honour for the best Hindi language film.

57th National Film Awards

Dada Saheb Phalke award went to the senior producer D Ramanaidu.
Senior musician Illyaraja got the best score Pazhassi Raja.
Ranjan Palit got Best Voiceover award.
Malayalam movie Kutty Srank bagged five awards in total that includes the best feature film. Other awards that this movie honored with are – Best Cinematography award, best screenplay award, best costume award and a special jury recognition award.
The special jury recognition award was also given to Bollywood movie Kaminey and the regional language movie Varma Pazhassi Raja from Kerala.
The Best Actor Award went to Amitabh Bachchan for the movie Paa.He was presented Rajat Kamal and Rs. 50,000. Paa movie also got the best Hindi film award.
Best Supporting Actress award (Arundhati Nag)
Best Makeup award (Christein Tinsley and Dominie Till) .
The Best Actress award went to the green horn Ananya Chatterjee for her performance in a Bengali Film Abohoman.
The Best Popular Movie Award has gone to Aamir Khan’s 3 idiots.Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Raj Kumar Hirani, the Producer and Director respectively of hit Bollywood movie 3 idoits got swaran kamal award along with a cash award of Rs. 2 lac, each. Kutty Srank, a regional movie,fetched Swarna Kamal for its producer Reliance Big Pictures along with a cash award of Rs. 2.5 lac and the same to the Director of this movie, Shaji N Karun.
Nargis Dutt Award goes to Delhi 6 for its message on national integration. Shyam Benegal’s Well Done Abba was acclaimed as the best movie on social issues.
The Best Music Director award has gone to Amit Trivedi for his music in Bollywood movie Dev D.
Best Lyrics award has gone to Swanand Kirkere for his song Behti hawa sa tha woh in 3 idiots.
Kannada movie Putaani Party and Malayalam movie Keshu both the movies have bagged the Best Children’s Film Award.
Similarly Jeeva and Anba Karaus both got the Best child actor award. Magadheera a telugu movie got the award for Best Special Effects and Choreography.
