Bird Flu

Avian influenza is called by the name bird flu.It was first identified in 1900,and now exists world wide.It is also known by the names influenza virus A flu, type A flu, or genus A flu).It spreads in air and in manure. Bird flu infects pigs, horses, birds, humans etc. Wild fowls are usually asymptomatic carriers. Avian influenza is transmitted by contaminated water, food, clothing etc.Incubation period of the virus is 3-5 days.H1N1 was the first identified strain of the virus.Then a number of subtypes have been confirmed including H2N2,H3N8,H5N1, H7N7, H9N2, H7N2, H7N3.
