UP TET Application Form and Syllabus 2011
Office of the Secretary, Secondary Education Council, Uttar Pradesh, and Allahabad issued a notification regarding conduct of Teacher Eligibility Test – Uttar Pradesh (UP-TET). The candidates are required to fill OMR which can be taken from designated branches of Punjab National Bank.

Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test – The candidates passed with the required minimum percentage shall be entitled to sit in this exam -
At primary level:
(i) All such schools, which are operated under state government.
(ii) The State Government / Basic Education by the Council from time to time recognition / affiliation has been provided.
(iii)Schools assisted by the State Government.
(iv) All schools to whom the NOC has been issued by the State Government from time to time, whether they are associated with any National Board.
At Upper Primary level -
(i) All such schools, which are operated under state government.
(ii) The State Government / Basic Education by the Council from time to time recognition / affiliation has been provided.
(iii) Schools assisted by the State Government.
(iv) All schools to whom the NOC has been issued by the State Government from time to time, whether they are associated with any National Board.
Examination – fees and receipt of application:
Fee for Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is as below:
General and Backward class candidates: Rs. 500/-
SC / ST candidates: Rs.250/ -
Disabled candidates: NIL
Amount of examination fee will be included in the price of the application. The application form and instruction manual may be obtained by paying the prescribed fee at the regional headquarters of Punjab National Bank branch. Applications form for candidates with disabilities can be obtained from the office of the district school Inspector. Free on the guidelines manual (only for the disabled) will be printed on these forms.
The last date for receipt and submission of application -
(A) Last date of receipt of applications from the branches of Bank of Punjab National Bank is 26-09-2011.
(B) The last date of submission of application form via registered post / speed post to the concerned Divisional Joint Education Director is 18-10-2011 till 5-00 pm. Applications received after the above prescribed last date will not be considered.

Teacher Eligibility Test – Uttar Pradesh Minimum Qualifications:
(1) Class I to V (Primary)
Graduate and NCTE approved two years course in BTC/CT (Nur)/ NTT
or
Graduate and NCTE approved BTC training from UP
or
Graduate with 50 % marks and B Ed or NCTE approved B Ed/ D Ed (special Education)/ B Ed (special Education) and graducation with 45 % marks is also eligible to be appointed as teacher in primary classes. In this case the candidate have to pass an NCTE approved six months course in Primary education before January 2012.
Or
Graduate with Moallim – e – Urdu completed before 11-8-97 (for Urdu Teachers)
Or
Graduate and Diploma in Teaching from the Aligarh Muslim University (for Urdu Teachers)
(2) Class VI to VIII (Elementary)
Graduate and NCTE approved two years course in BTC/CT (Nur)/ NTT
or
Graduate and NCTE approved BTC training from UP
or
Graduate with minimum 50 percent marks and one-year B. Ed
or
Graduate with minimum 45 percent marks and one-year B. Ed as per NCTE guidelines.
or
Graduate with minimum 50 percent marks and one-year-old B Ed (Special Education)
Reservation policy - as reserved categories – SC / ST / OBC / Handicapped / freedom fighters / Ex-Servicemen, etc. candidates will be given 05 percent relaxation in the qualifying marks.
Important Note: The applicants are instructed to apply as per qualification provided in this advertisement. The forms being issued by the branches of Punjab National Bank from September 26, 2011 has been updated now as per fresh guidelines issued by NCTE vide latest notification No. 2029/15-11 -2011 dated September 24, 2011. The latest changes may not be there in these forms but these are provided here in this advertisement. So follow this advertisement strictly.
Format of Exam -
Education Eligibility Test – Uttar Pradesh (UP-TET) will have two levels -
Primary level (Class 1-5)
Upper primary level (Class 6-8)
- Candidate can take part in both or any one examination. Both examinations will be held the same day in two shifts. If a candidate want to sit in both the examinations (primary and upper primary), he/she has to submit two application forms separately.
- Exam period will be total 90 minutes.
- There will be total 150 questions. All questions will be multiple choice. Each question has four options.
- Each question will carry one mark.
- There will be no Negative marking. No marks will be deducted for wrong answers.
- Questions will be in Hindi and English respectively.
- Qualifying percentage to pass the exam is 60%.
- For SC / ST and disabled candidates it is 55 %.
- The validity of the certificate is 5 years.
- The eligibility certificate will be valid for 05 years.
- Admit cards will be sent through speed post 15 days before the exam. Candidates can download them from http://uptet2011.com too.
- The Test will be conducted on 13 November, 2011.
UPTET 2011 Syllabus : There will be five Subjects / Sections in Paper I. There will be 30 objective multiple choice type questions in each section and they will carry one mark each. Duration of the exam is 90 minutes for each paper. Following are the subjects in Paper I:
- Child development and pedagogy
- Language I
- Language II (Must be other than Language I)
- Mathematics
- Environmental studies
Nature of the Question papers and weightage for TET in various states differ according to their requirements. The qualification of UPTET is mandatory for those candidates aspiring to become teachers in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
How to Apply for UPTET 2011 :- Candidates can obtian (buy) Information Bulletin/Brouchers and Application Form of UPTET 2011 from the Scheduled Banks and Head Post Offices of the State. After holding the application form read it carefully and fill the application form as per instructions. Submit filled Application Form to the same Bank or Post Office from where you had buy the application form with in 15 days from the date of issuance of UPTET 2011 Notification.
Passing Marks for UPTET Certificate and Validity Period of TET Certificate/Mark Sheet :-
In UPTET 2011, as per NCTE guidelines, Candidates who secure the minimum 60% marks will be declared pass in UPTET 2011 (55% for SC/ST/PH candidates) and awarded TET Certificate. Marks secured in TET exam will given wait-age in the Government’s Teacher Recruitment in the Uttar Pradesh.
Candidates who will successfully qualify UPTET 2011 with minimum qualifying marks will awarded with TET Certificate. UPTET Certificate shall be valid for a period of 5 years. A person who has qualified UPTET may also appear again for improvement in score. A person can take for acquiring a TET Certificate, because there will be no restriction on the number of attempts, so any one who wants to reappear can apply how many times he/she wants.
